It was raining after Baby left.

21 days. my birthday. batam trip. 5 movies. lots of love.

8 oct was quieter this year, but the presence of love made it special. We returned to Clarke Quay for their Manhattan's, just like the previous year. Nevermind about the rainy weather and the initial plans. Having you around is enough.

While waiting for my 1st vocal lesson in 2 years at Funkie Monkies, I was reminded of Nicole lao shi when I heard the familiar piano chords and vocal practices. I miss her lessons.

But Yu Xuan lao shi is nice too. She's very friendly and adorable. Her voice 很有感动度 (hen you gan dong du). I hope to learn new things from her and be able to perform at somewhere someday. I just want to sing for people, for her.

Love was very sweet just now. VERY! He met me for dinner and sent me to school. Then he waited till my class ended. My class was supposed to be only an hour long so baby was standing downstairs, waiting for another hour. He wasn't even unhappy/angry when I finally came down. So sweet!!!

To think that I was so mean to him yesterday. :( SORRY BABYYYY!!!

Spent a perfect night with Love. He is more caring, thoughtful and loving when he's back. Distance did make the heart grow fonder.

There weren't any dramatic hugs or kisses when we first met because we were 2 shy kids. But I fell in love with J again. =)

Work as usual after a quick breakfast and 6pm feels later than usual yesterday. Dinner was at my place because Auntie Yeo cooked curry chicken. She must have guessed Love misses all the local delights. Then, we caught < Vicky, Christina, Barcelona > at Vivo Gold Class. Woo~

The blanket, the reclining chair, the wine, the food, the experience, LOVE's company made the night so special. Had not felt this way for a very long while.

And Love bought many stuff for me and the Ngs. Thank you, baby!

Hmm... I still think my hair is weird...

Yes... I trimmed my hair again. This time, I requested for a change of style and my hairdresser gave me a punky haircut. Nice but difficult to maintain. I have freaking short hair at my crown and I am still learning how to style them. Any tips, anyone??? I need to get a hang of styling to avoid being late for work AGAIN! Heehee...

Something from Sunday's wedding dinner...

Aren't they cute??? Attending wedding dinner makes me feel like getting married NOW! Baby, do you get the hint??? =) Everyone was giving me ideas on how I should plan mine. Actually, I already have a plan. Heehee... Shall not reveal till later, after I discuss with Baby! Besties have promised to be my bridesmaids. Even my colleagues, Jiayi and Dawn, were eager to be mine. But they are mean people. They say they are going to bully Baby when he picks me up for the wedding ceremony. :(((

Honestly, I am really not that eager to marry. I am just looking forward to it. =))) Right, dear? We always have fun discussing about our wedding and our cosy home. Everyone is telling me marriage is the end of romance. I disagree!!! Totally!!! Baby, we shall work hard towards having our happily-ever-after marriage, okies??? Are you with me???

I don't need expensive diamond ring. I don't need fanciful proposals. I don't need promises. I need LOVE! Lots and lots of them!

Note: But I still want A small diamond ring (for me to flaunt! =) ) and a romantic proposal (to show you have planned and put in a substantial amount of effort, for me to remember and tell our grandchildren. Strictly NO let's-go-and-apply-a-flat or the-wedding-package-is-having-a-promotion or any other similar effortless proposals.)

After much debate on what to eat and where to eat, we finally agreed on Seoul Yummy @ Square 2. From the name of the restaurant, you can probably guess that it's a Korean restaurant.

Being a sua gu me, I was quite excited because I had never been to this shopping mall. :p

Managed to look into some shops there and I realized they have nice shoes and clothes. I saw 1 very pretty pair of booties with very unique heels. I am so going to return there to try it on.

The management had a meeting this afternoon and Benson (Boss) invited Monica, Jiayi and me to dine with them at Hai Tien Lo, Pan Pacific level 37. Freako!!! Pan Pacific looks so much better than what I have expected it to be.

We had set dinner and it was GREAT! Superior Shark's Fin, Super big Abalone and even their cold dish appetizer taste good! But this is 1 expensive meal. I wouldn't bear to spend so much on a meal.

Yesterday

After waiting for more than a month, the girls finally watched the SATC movie. FINALLY! It was such a long wait and I admit I was tempted to watch it without the girls several times. I am so glad I didn't.

Met up with PSG after dinner to chill and ended up at Bedok 85 again. 2 consecutive nights. Last night, I was there with baby for dinner. Tonight we were there because RH was at her bf's house. See how important our Ms. Zhao is! Then we dropped by Joe's Corner to have smoothies instead of alcohol.

After a discussion, I wonder... after gossiping so much about someone, could that someone be also talking to his/her friends about me?

Anyhowz I am learning to manage people. Something that is not very me.

Guess most of you would have known by now that I was ill for the whole of last week.

Sore throat... Fever... Vomiting... Gastric...Coughing... Running Nose...

It was one of the most terrifying experience.

I went to the clinic 3 times, saw the same doctor twice. I got 4-day MC from work and had 2 jabs. It's the first time I really didn't mind taking the jabs at all. Anyhowz, the jabs didn't quite work and I was still puking after every single food/liquid I take.

I finally went back to work on Monday but I was still feeling very unwell. I felt tired and weak and there were so much to complete at work. It is only today that I start to feel better even though I still can't eat much during meals. Probably I was too fat and I had to be punished but it wasn't my ideal way of dieting.~

Still, this made me feel stronger and more independent because J was not around at all during this time. I learn to love myself more. =)

Baby, I am not complaining. Hee!

WE were both down with food poisoning after a steamboat buffet on Monday night. It's not the place's fault but ours. We didn't cook the crab properly. :p

At this time, I am just thankful that I have my mom and maid around to bring me to the doc, to buy food, to cook porridge and to bring me my medicine.

I remember a scene in SATC when Sam caught a cold and was terribly sick. She couldn't get up and her curtains broke. She was staying alone in her new apartment and there was no one to take care of her when she's ill.

It's also this time when plain crackers taste so good!

And I have cravings for nissim tom yum seafood, cold jasmine green tea, ice cream and sushi.

After reading Joy's entry, I feel an urge to also write about my 3 special ones. :)))

Besides my family, these are the 3 most important people in my life. They give me the attention, love and concern whenever I need them. Boyfriends will take us for granted but they will never.

They love me for who I am and I know I don't have to pretend to be someone I am not whenever I am with them. Unlike some, they do not judge me from my behaviour, the pitch of my voice and my gestures.

I love them too. We are in a relationship where we know we can still be chilling out at some new cafes selling cheap stuff when we are 30, 40 something, single, married, pregnant or ~~divorced~~ with children.

These are my SATC girls. Guys just don't get it.

No one can imagine what I am going through whenever drivers make a sharp turn without slowing down, cut lanes agressively and tail-gate others. In that split second, I'll always picture the whole car crashing and I'll be flung out of the vehicle. It makes me very scared and anxious. I must say I did not create that image on purpose, it just appeared on its own every time.

Guess it must be the effects of the accident years ago.

I'll never forget that moment.

I probably need a blindfold when I get into someone's car the next time.

We celebrated Mothers' Day today.

I brought them to Suntec's Joaquim Buffet Restaurant to have porridge buffet lunch. Mommy is not feeling well and is on Chinese medicine, so she cannot take anything too spicy or fried.

Though I've been there for their steamboat buffet dinner, this is my first time having the porridge buffet lunch. It's really not bad and price is slightly cheaper than the other restaurants which I found from the internet. Daddy and Mommy seems to like the porridge buffet too.

After lunch, Twinny, Mommy and I went shopping while Dad went to work. Initially, we just wanted to shop at Carrefour then go home but in the end, we spent the whole afternoon shopping for clothes and shoes. Ok... I feel bad cos I am the only one buying stuff. So instead of me and Twinny accompanying my mom, it was the other way round. :p

I finally met up with Besties on Thursday!

We had our dinner at Wang Jiao Cafe at J8 and spent the next 2 hours updating one another and taking pictures. Actually I was talking most of the time, so it's more like they were there to listen to my whinings. Sorry girls... we'll meet up again soon and I promise not to talk so much. :p

And they are all freaking skinny. Gosh! I feel so fat standing next to them.

Jason has been going to Malaysia with his 168-cum-SPOON buddy. The reason for that name is because they are neighbours, living at Block 168 Hougang Ave 1 and their cars are modifed based on the SPOON concept.

Today, I went with them! Jam!

This trip wasn't as exciting as expected. But like what baby says, at least we went out of Singapore!

Romantic Night Out

1st weekend after I start my work proper felt so good. I no longer have to worry about my incomplete homework when I go out with baby.

I had planned a weekend of shopping but it isn't quite possible with Jason around. He looked so bored. :p Anyway, I managed to buy a pair of working pants and a pair of shoes. More shopping to look forward to when I meet Jazlyn this coming week.

I don't know what got me into the mood of shopping. SATC, work or just the addiction?

When Jason and I first dated, we always like to patronize Midsummer Nite Breeze at Pasir Ris Park. We liked it there because it is by the sea, quiet and have a beautiful sky to look at. However, we stopped going there after a while because unlike the name of the bar, it was very hot and it was getting more crowded.

After so long, we found another nice place to chill, The Beach Hut at East Coast. Food and drinks were a little pricier, but they were yummy. It was also much cooler and their services were better. They had mosquito coil and a huge log under the table for us to rest our legs. Sweet!

And I am starting to take pictures again... =)

I have only 1 weekend to celebrate the end of my student life and to get prepared for work officially. I had my last paper at SMU on Friday and I am officially starting work tomorrow.

I love my weekend!

Jason's party went quite smoothly on Friday night, except that I was the only girl around (most of the time). They blamed me for not asking my female friends along. Actually I did, but besties were not free... so too bad for the guys.

Having spent 3 days 2 nights with Jason, I remembered how much we have been through for the past 2 years. Things were not that great between us before the party but all the unhappy incidents and feelings were gone now. We will only remember how much we love each other.

Sometimes, all we need is just a little something to spice our relationship up.

I should have never challenged myself to watch Rule #1 and watching it with Twinny does not help in any ways.

People around us must think we are stupid. "Why are these 2 girls torturing themselves?"

Twinny and I are trained to identify scenes that the "ghosts" are most probably going to appear. Then we cover our ears at those times, anticipating their appearance.

Rule #1 is better than expected. Unlike other Chinese horror movies, it has a plot. A realistic one. The ideas are fresh, not taken from any Thai or English horror movies. I like it but I am also very affected by it. The evil won in the end, how could it be?

Anyway, GV auntie didn't think we look like we are above 16 years and demanded to check our ICs. I think Twinny is the reason.

Singaporean Drivers

Being on the road for so long, I categorized drivers into 4 categories:

1. The leisure drivers (aka the aunties and elderly). They drive very slowly because they have plenty of time to spare and they are not bothered by their surroundings.

2. The commonly-known female drivers. I have to admit some female drivers are really very "ka-U", but NOT ALL female drivers are like that. There is an emerging trend of aggressive female drivers who drive the sporty or the luxury cars.

3. The reckless drivers (drunkards). They drive like they are going to get into a car accident anytime.

4. The agressive drivers. They are usually the older men who drive luxury cars or the boys. They are impatient and are commonly found changing lanes (from the extreme right to the extreme left) to overtake other drivers. They drive very fast and brake only when they are super close to the vehicle in front. The boys also tend to scold vulgarities and show the middle finger when they are pissed.

I saw 2 accidents today. Both seemed to be pretty serious, judging from the damages to the vehicles involved and the appearance of police and ambulance. Accidents seem to be very common nowadays.

And I wonder... who caused these accidents?

Is it the reckless drivers, the inattentive drivers or the aggressive ones?

In my opinion, safe drivers have better driving skills. They do everything in the proper and safe way. They are patient and display road courtesy. On the other hand, aggressive drivers make driving very stressful as people honk each other and scold vulgarities. Aggressive drivers claim that they are more skillful

Little Honeymoon

Hi everyone,

I'm back! In fact, I've been back for more than 48 hours now. =)

We spent 5 days 4 nights in Bangkok and used up most of our money. However, we enjoyed the trip tremendously. We are already planning our next trip.

This was my first f&e trip. It was pretty much an adventure for me. Unlike package tours which only allow us to see and experience what we are supposed to, f&e tours provide the opportunities to experience the 'real' world. We met a few baddies along the way who tried to take advantage of us but fortunately J was smart enough to get us out of trouble. I would be so helpless without him.

This is a brief summary of our itinerary:

Day1:

When we reached Bangkok, we were cheated into those private taxi in which we were charged 700 bahts (400 bahts higher than usual meter cabs)! 10 minutes after we boarded the cab, it broke down on a highway. (-_-''') After which, he flagged a meter cab and we saw the meter cab driver give the private cab driver 200 bahts.! It was only then that we realized we were being taken advantage of. :(

We stayed at Baiyoke Boutique Hotel which is in Pratunam area, where most of the shopping malls are. As we arrived at our hotel early, we walked around our neighbourhood (Pratunam market and Pantip Plaza).

Day2:

We shopped at Platinum Mall, a one-stop wholesale fashion mall. It was so BIG! There are more than 1,300 shops in that mall and it took us about 6-7 hours to comb the whole place. Everything was so cheap and not of poor quality as described in some websites. I also had my first Thai massage!

We also went to MBK, another popular shopping mall. There is free shuttle from our hotel to the shopping mall, so transport is free! MBK is much bigger than Platinum Mall, but I didn't get anything there. Then we took a skytrain to Patpong night market!

Patpong Night Market is the (in)famous red light district. Baby J was dragged into one of the bars to watch 'tiger' show. It was quite a scary but funny experience. They closed the door when we entered the bar and the bikini girls started to walk up the stage. Although we intended to watch one of those shows, we changed our minds when we were IN the bar. Baby J started to "act blur" by saying that we were told it was a TIGER show. The waitress jokingly explained that it was a pussy show and not a tiger show. Anyhow, we just wanted to get out of that place. We were chased out by the pissed manager eventually. Haha!

Day3:

We went to Wat Po, the temple of reclining Buddha and travelled on our first tuk-tuk. We went to a few other smaller temples and then to Chinatown to shop for Baby J's car accessories. It was the most tiring day because we walked from 1 place to another under the scorching hot sun.

Day4:

Chatuchak Day! As we bought most of our stuff at Platinum, we spent only 3 hours in Chatuchak market. Clothes at the market were trendier but they are also pricier. It was less comfortable shopping in Chatuchak than in Platinum because it's an open market so it's very hot and stuffy in the afternoon.

Day5:

Finally back in Singapore!

Life is monotonous these days. Love Day passed and New Year ends officially today. Baby has been very busy and grumpy over work issues and I am starting to dislike work and school.

I am looking forward to our trip to Bangkok but Baby seems a little indifferent. He explained that "he's a man" and he shouldn't express his emotions. 'Man' or uninterested, I'm not sure. He's certainly not a 'man' when he starts talking about cars and modifications.

My 4-year-old lappy is showing signs of old age. Its fan is faulty and produces loud noises occasionally. My SMU profile is also corrupted after an accident. I've always wanted to reformat my laptop but I was just too lazy to backup all my data and spend 1 whole day reformatting and installing the new softwares. Now, I don't have a choice.

Let me know if you guys want me to buy anything from Bangkok. =)

I wanna say a big THANK YOU to the people working in toastbox (PS outlet) on Tuesday, 12Feb.

I left my laptop on the chair after my dinner at Toast Box with Twinny. She had just done her shopping for valentine's day gifts for her friends, so we have lots of bags.

I only realized my laptop wasn't with me when I reached home. Because my dad fetched us from Serangoon MRT, I thought I could have left my lappy in his car. Suddenly, Twinny just kept on screaming "Toast Box! Toast Box!" I must admit I was still in a shock and I haven't have any time to think and react before I was pushed into my dad car and we were off to PS again. It was only in my Dad's car that I started to panic.

At the meantime, brainy Twinny already called the operator to get Toast Box's number, which didn't get through because it was always engaged. Then she called Vivo's outlet to get a salesperson's contact who works in PS branch. That girl wasn't working that night and she was already sleeping so she didn't answer Twinny's calls until much later. When she finally answered Twinny's call, she wasn't at all irritated and was very helpful.

When I reached PS, the table which we ate at was occupied and my lappy was nowhere to be found. Fortunately, when I asked the sales guys behind the counter, they say they kept it. I was so HAPPY!!! I just kept thanking them because I didn't know what it would be like if I lost my lappy.

I would like to thank the 3 guys working in Toast Box (PS) on Tuesday (12 Feb) night.
I would like to thank Xiao Lei, the girl who wasn't working but still very friendly and helpful.
I would like to thank Twinny for her fast and alert mind.

I just had lunch at my school's cafe ALONE.

This is my first time doing so.

I've always felt that it's very sad to eat meals alone in cafes or restaurants.

Usually, I'll buy something to munch on my way to somewhere.

Today, I just feel like being alone.

Studying in school, eating lunch, shop for twinny's present later and then catch a movie all by myself.

It sounds a little silly but I like it this way today.

There's also something else.

I've lost my voice.

And I couldn't even order my food properly. :(((

Reflection

January 31, 2008.

The first Data Centre to call our own.

However, I am not as happy as I thought I would be.

To begin with, I am very proud to announce that I am the core organizer of the whole event, with decisions made by my manager of course.

I was looking forward to this day for the past 2 weeks, but when the function was over, I felt lost and emotional...

The entire process was very tedious. From searching for fresh-and-cheap quotations for the opening-ceremony part, the lion dance and caterer to begging the vendors for sponsorships. Negotiation was never my style... As a marketer, I would want the event to be a big thing, with everyone bringing unique memories/experiences back with them. Something that will create an impact. But the rah rah stuff needs money and I have budgets to keep to. I give so little but I want so much. How? I learnt to settle with the best that little can bring. I am lucky that the people I work with this time are pretty friendly and nice.

Then I had to ask for sponsorships...:( Knowing me, I am such a thin-skinned person, HOW to ask??? I can only say I am still not good at this even after this event. I totally hate this task. Haha!

In addition, I did up a presentation which all the big shots seemed pretty pleased with. However, I did it with reference to another presentation. I didn't copy entirely but I got some ideas from there. I feel that even though my current company doesn't have a marketing department, someone senior for me to learn from, I am still learning through the world-wide-web and self-discoveries.

And so... the day arrives.

I was feeling very excited and nervous. I like being the one behind-the-scenes. It gave me a sense of satisfaction when all the set-ups were done. Although some were not as what I have expected them to be and there were a few screw-ups here and there, it was generally fine.

I tried to do some PR but I think I failed terribly. I JUST cannot communicate with Caucasians. I didn't understand their jokes and even when I say something, I feel I am talking nonsense and it's such a bore to talk to me. Sigh... I've always wanted to be very professional but everytime when I'm excited or nervous, my pitch increases and I don't sound pro AT ALL. I always lose myself during those times... Sigh...

Ok... I'm exhausted after the event. I am going to bed.

Weird!!!

A second girl called me on my hp...

She is slightly older because she can speak proper English. In all, she called me thrice. First, she called and told me her name and was looking for [a name]. I told her she called the wrong number and she sounded shocked! *Haahaa* Then I said 'bye' politely.

The second time she called, she asked for my name.!?!?! I refused to tell her and asked her who she was looking for. She said she's looking for her cousin. I asked her for the number she dialled and realised that she dialled 1 digit wrongly. I explained to her that her cousin was not asleep (which she claimed because I was always the one answering the call) and told her exactly which number she pressed wrongly. She stoned again... and I said 'bye' politely again.

Third time! I was feeling a little pek chek liao... She called and asked for my name again. She said her auntie told her to ask me. I told her my name (just in case she thought I was the little girl's cousin and I was playing with her). Then she asked me where I stay!?!?!?!! Yes, her auntie told her to ask again. I was slightly pissed. I told her I was not going to tell her and I was going to hang up. I guessed she didn't know what "hanging up" meant because she stoned for quite some time. I just said 'bye' and I hung up.

This time, it's a small little girl... who kept crying "Mommy..."
She sounded really pitiful.
I was trying to tell her that I am not her mommy, but she just kept crying for her mommy.
I had no choice but to hang her call... :(

I am going to Paya Lebar Mrt to take a train to school. I know there are quite a number of buses I can take from my place to the station. So when a bus no. 22 came, I happily boarded it and settled down. After a while, the bus turned left instead of going straight ahead! Argh!!! Wrong bus!!! I faintly remembered the same thing happen before...

I ended up taking a cab because I was going to be late for school.

I have 2 3-hour seminars back-to-back every Monday. I didn't have anything during my first break and before my 2nd break at 5pm, my stomach was growling like mad. It was so embarrassing!!!

Then I bought a sandwich during break-time and while eating my first half, i dropped the other on the floor!!! Gosh... I felt so bloody sad.. ...so so so saddd ... Can you feel it???

To make me feel worse, my Sales Management prof is so boring that I think I am starting to dislike him.

I am so looking forward to the end of school, starting of full-time work. 3 more months!!!

The weather may be very beautiful but it just wasn't our day yesterday.J's trying to prove that his professional-looking camera can produce pictures of better quality. But I think the skills of the photographer are also very important. *Haha*

Hmm... did you notice that there are many red cars on the road nowadays?

Anyhow, Baby's yellow jazz was surrounded by so many red cars... there were 2 other red cars on the other side but I couldn't get all of them to appear in the same picture.

I love the color but not the haircut. As usual, Auntie cut my hair instead of just trimming the ends. Jasmyn (my new friend from my "World Travel and Tourism" class) advise me to tell the auntie exactly how much to cut and keep reminding her the next time I visit a hair salon.

Dec 28 - Dec 30 I've been on cruise for quite a few times, but this time it just felt very different and special. I had my family and Baby J with me. It was his first cruise and it was our first trip out of Singapore. I am looking forward to more trips with J, probably just the 2 of us, before he leaves for training. =)

I believe 2008 is a great year because '2' and '8' are both my favourite numbers. They are Twinny's and my birthday days. Let's hope everything will go well for everyone this year.

I watched the fireworks at Esplanade just now and of course this will mean that Baby J has sacrificed for me again. Thanks dear :D. It was not as fantastic as what I have expected but I am still very happy because I was with baby J and the loud pops and glittery fireworks simply mark a brand new year.

It was particularly crowded this year and I was so afraid that Baby J will get into any fights. He's easily agitated and I really didn't want him to get into any fights on the 1st day of a new year. Luckily, everything was peaceful even though there were many squeezings and pushings.

I stayed over at Baby J's place on Friday night because time is running out! Im flying to Europe this Thursday.

We also washed Baby's car in the afternoon. He didn't wash for 1 whole week! Eeks! Yucks! Argh! Though it's tiring, I am happy. =)
Then... Dinner at Paris International at Marina Square!

It was so expensive and the food only tasted average. But Baby J was so sweet! He took all the food from the buffet table and peeled the prawn, crayfish and crab shells for me. I am really very happy and very touched. :*

After dinner, we caught a movie, The Golden Compass. Twinny joined us for the movie after her CIP. She was so tired that she fell asleep during the movie and Baby J was feeling very uncomfortable because a gay kept leaning towards the arm rest next to him. He only told me after the movie. Lucky guy! If Baby J told me earlier, I'll bish that guy! *Haha!* Patpat Poor boy!

The movie was not bad, but it wasn't fantastic too. The ending was a disappointment. It was slow-paced and the fighting scenes were few.

Overall, I'll still recommend it. Geez.

I love this movie!

I watched it on Friday. It reminds me of what I used to believe but lose faith in after a bad experience. The ideals of "happily ever after" and "true love". I'm starting to feel it again! (^_^)

It's a romantic comedy, a movie that includes familiar scenes from the classic Disney fairytale films (e.g. Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty and Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs) but with a modern twist.

I love the princess-character, Giselle. She was so innocent, so cheerful, so princess-y. I love Amy Adams. I love Pip, the chipmunk who is Giselle's best friend. I love the animation-to-real world transition. I love the songs they sang in the movie and the "happy working song" is still playing in my head!!!

An email from my prof this afternoon...

"...Please note the exam is multiple choice questions (MCQ's for those born in Singapore…) and contains only one or two short essay answers. There is extra credit if you wear your "(NO)Cannot" t-shirt. If you don't wear your "(NO) Cannot" t-shirt, you are eligible to answer an extra credit question which is similar in difficulty to the first question I asked in the practice quiz (week 9). ..."

PS: The question he is referring to is "What is Strategy?"

He gave this to all of us in our final class. Cool, uh!?! Anyway, he's an Egyptian.

Just to play safe, I am going to bring it to the exam hall tomorrow. I don't want to risk my marks. My Prof can be quite unpredictable... you never know when he really means it sometimes.
